Secured Loan

Borrow against your savings with a secured loan.

If you want to keep your savings untouched, take a loan instead. Secured loans between £500 and £10,000 are available over anything between a few weeks and 5 years at a flat rate of 0.5% interest (6.2%APR).

Preserve the insurance on your savings and get free life insurance cover on loans taken out before your 70th birthday.

Loan application process

  1. Be a Member with shares
    You must be an existing Member with shares in the credit union to apply for the Secured Loan
  2. Login to Online Banking
    Login to or register for Online Banking to access the online Loan Application
  3. Apply for loan online
    Complete your application with the relevant attached documentation
  4. Sit back and relax!
    We will get back to you within 2 working days with our decision

Who can apply for a Secured Loan?

Members of Gateway Credit Union with savings in their account can apply for the Secured Against Savings Loan. By securing against your savings you can borrow from £500-£10,000 and benefit from our lowest rate of 3.7% APR.
