The Share Account is a straightforward savings account held by all our members. You can pay in whatever you wish, up to our maximum savings amount, currently £30,000 and withdraw whenever you wish. You open a Share Account when you become a member of Gateway Credit Union.

Gateway Credit Union is regulated by the Prudential Regulation Authority and is also a member of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. In the event of a credit union collapsing 100% of the first £85,000 of any savings is refunded, making a credit union savings account as secure as any bank or building society.
Most of our members register a bank account with us, and can then request withdrawals by phone.
