Community Accounts

Accounts For Organisations

Accounts For Organisations

Organisations can now join Gateway Credit Union as Corporate Members, when you open a Community Account.

Our Community Account is an easy way for organisations to make their money work hard in their local area. Community Accounts attract the same rate of dividend as other savings and are very similar to our Share Account for individuals. You get a passbook and easy access to your money. As with individuals, the maximum you can have in the account is £30,000. We accept deposits by cash, cheque, e-banking or standing order.

The account is suitable for:

  • Community groups and local charities

The Gateway Credit Union Community Account provides a solution for small community groups who are looking for a secure account to deposit their money.  Whether you are a sports club, craft group or choir, you can deposit your subs, oche fees and coffee morning takings in your local Credit Union shares account.

A GCU Community Account requires a minimum of three signatories. Each of the signatories will need to provide:

- Proof of ID

- Proof of address

- Proof of NI number

If you would like to open a Community Account, please call in to see us at 21 Commercial Street, Pontypool, NP4 6JP.

All GCU Community Accounts incur an annual membership fee of £5.00.This will be automatically deducted from your GCU account on or after 30th September each year.

Community Accounts are not intended to replace a Business Bank Account

GCU loan products are unavailable on GCU Community Accounts.

Gateway Credit Union reserves the right to close any Community Accounts which are considered to be exceeding fair use.
