Gateway Credit Union Share Account
The Share Account is a straightforward savings account held by all our members. You can pay in whatever you wish, up to our maximum savings amount, and withdraw whenever you wish. You open a Share Account when you become a member of Gateway Credit Union. To join click here.
Gateway Credit Union provides free Life Savings insurance on your savings. In the event of the death of a member, the lawful beneficiary will be provided with this benefit. For full details click here
To withdraw your savings we need a signed Share Withdrawal form. We will process the withdrawal and send you a cheque, which you can cash if you wish, at a local post office up to £500 or a Co-operative bank branch for larger sums. Alternatively we will arrange payment into your bank account or can pay a third party by cheque for you.
Members may pay into their account using any of the following options:
1. Cash at any collection point
2. Cheque at any collection point. You can pay cheques made payable to you into your Gateway account. 
3. Postal order at any collection point
4. Standing Order using this form and these details to make a regular payment from your bank.
5. Direct deduction from payroll of participating employers
6. Benefits paid directly to the credit union using this form
7. One off electronic payment from your bank account using these details
Gateway Credit Union is regulated by the Financial Services Authority and is also a member of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. In the event of a credit union collapsing 100% of the first £85,000 of any savings is refunded, making a credit union savings account as secure as any bank or building society.
